About

On 26 and 27 February, we’re bringing together a powerful panel to discuss what we can do, locally and nationally, to improve housing access and affordability in Indi.

Our speakers include:

  • Mark Humphries, housing advocate, comedian and host of SOLD!

  • Senator David Pocock, Independent Senator for the ACT, with a key focus on fixing housing.

  • Helen Haines MP, Independent Federal Member for Indi, with a special interest in regional housing.

  • Celia Adams, CEO of Beyond Housing. Beyond Housing has a simple mission: Ending homelessness.

Alongside the panel discussion, we’ll host a special screening of SOLD! Who Broke the Great Australian Dream?, where Mark Humphries investigates Australia’s housing system with his trademark mix of humour and hard‑hitting insight.

This documentary offers a bold, factual and surprisingly quirky look at the policies that have shaped modern renting and home ownership - a perfect conversation starter for our community.

This is an event for supporters of community independents (you might be a supporter of Helen Haines MP, Voices for Indi, or Community for Benambra). If you are not already a supporter, we invite you to join the conversation about democracy and good policy. Please sign up at one of these links:
