Runners Nest: Friday Shake-Out & Settle In
Ease into the weekend. Move the body, quiet the mind, fuel up.
It’s Friday at Sherwood, and the Nest is open. We’re starting slow, with a lakeside shake-out run, a seriously good (and free) breakfast, and a mindfulness workshop to ground you before race day. Whether you’re running on Saturday or just here for the vibes, come join us for a day of movement, stillness, and connection.
All Friday events are free and open to everyone, runners, friends, early risers, and oat-milk lovers.
Friday Line-Up:
Shake-Out Run - 7am
Meet: Sherwood Reception
A casual 5k along the Frankton Track, led by Josh from Sherwood. Coffee and breakfast to follow.
A Supremely Boring Breakfast - 7-10am
Location: Sherwood Tipi
Coffee Supreme will be pouring espresso and filter coffee from the caravan, while Boring® serves an oatmeal bar with all the good stuff to carb-load you right. Expect overnight oats, porridge, fresh fruit, and toppings from Fix & Fogg, Whittaker’s, and Raglan Food Co.
The Runner’s Mind - 8:30am & 10:30am
Location: Sherwood Yoga Studio
A mindfulness workshop for marathon runners, led by Ursula Griffen. You’ll explore tools to stay present through each kilometre, define what success means to you, and create the conditions for the race of your life. The session blends mindfulness, visualisation, breathwork, and cacao.
