About

The Rainforest conservation offer gives eligible landholders in the Ballina, Byron, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Tweed Local Government Areas the opportunity to receive annual payments to protect and manage important native vegetation on your land.

We're hosting one-on-one information sessions for landholders interested in the offer. Check your eligibility and book a 20-minute personal session so our team can answer your questions.

Eligible sites include those that are:

  • within the proposed offer area

  • contain at least 20 hectares of native vegetation, including:

    • a minimum of 15 hectares of existing rainforest in moderate to good condition

    • that is a target threatened ecological community (see List), and

    • where needed, additional non-target native vegetation in moderate to good condition to reach the 20-hectare minimum area

  • can be managed under an in-perpetuity conservation agreement to deliver the agreed management actions needed to protect and manage native vegetation and fauna on the site.
