About the Facilitator
Dr Rod Lane leads the design and delivery of these AI workshops. He is Director of Innovation and Technology at the New Zealand School Boards Association and a former Associate Professor of Education at Macquarie University, Sydney.
Rod is an active researcher in AI in education, with peer-reviewed papers on generative AI in schools published in leading international journals. He is a keynote speaker on AI governance, risk management and effective integration of technology in the classroom, and led the development of an AI-powered policy designer used by schools across New Zealand.
Rod's career spans classroom teaching, teacher education and senior academic leadership. He combines best-practice research with practical knowledge of how schools actually work.
Rod designs every workshop for the people doing the work — principals, teachers, IT coordinators, and administrative staff — so participants leave with the confidence, skills, and judgement to use AI effectively, safely, and in ways that genuinely improve student learning outcomes.

What's the difference between scheduled events and custom delivery?
Scheduled events are open-registration workshops and webinars available through our booking system above. Custom delivery is tailored to your organisation's specific context, team size, and timing needs, and can be delivered online or in-person.
Do you work with organisations outside the education sector?
Yes — we work with government agencies, NGOs, community organisations, and educational institutions across Aotearoa New Zealand. Our expertise in education governance equips us to support any public or community sector organisation with similar accountability, resource, and stakeholder challenges.
How do I know which service or approach is right for us?
Get in touch using the form below. We'll discuss your goals, constraints, and current state, then recommend the best approach — whether that's joining a scheduled event or designing something custom for your organisation.
