About

Communicate with Confidence is a practical four-part workshop series designed to help businesses and community organisations communicate with greater clarity, purpose and confidence.

Led by communication strategist Chris McLoughlin, the series focuses on four areas that can have a major impact on how an organisation is understood, seen and trusted: business storytelling, social media, media relations and reputation management.

Each one-hour workshop is practical, focused and designed to give you skills you can put to use immediately. You will work through real examples, simple frameworks and activities that can be applied directly to your own business or organisation.

Attend the full series for a broader communication skill set, or choose the individual workshops that are most relevant to you. Each session stands on its own, so you can build the program around your own priorities.

The series includes:

Create a Story That Connects
Learn how to develop a clear business narrative that explains what you do, why it matters and why people should choose or support you.

DIY Social Media That Works
Move beyond simply posting content and develop a clearer strategy for what you say, who you are trying to reach and how your social media supports your broader communication goals.

Getting Your Story Heard
Learn how to identify stories within your business or organisation, find the right media angle and pitch journalists in a way that improves your chances of earning media coverage.

Protecting Your Reputation
Explore how businesses and organisations can prepare for issues before they escalate, respond when something goes wrong and communicate in a way that protects trust. The workshop will cover reputation management, crisis communication, key messages, statements, media interviews and responding to difficult questions.

The workshops are suitable for small business owners, community organisations, not-for-profits and professionals who manage their own communication, as well as those who want a better understanding of how to work strategically with marketing, media and communication support.

The Maleny workshop series is being delivered with the support of Maleny Commerce, helping make practical communication training more accessible to local businesses and organisations.
