Australia’s premier celebration of dance on film, the Inspired Dance Film Festival (IDFF), returns for its 6th season this October with a bold international program featuring stories of identity, empowerment, cultural connection, and resilience.
Spanning 11 days in cinema and available online globally for 16 days, the festival showcases works from across the globe, spotlighting both emerging and established artists.
This year’s line-up includes films from over 15 countries, with 12 World Premieres and 18 Australian Premieres, affirming IDFF’s role as a vital platform for dance filmmakers worldwide.
Audiences will experience an inspiring mix of programs:
Dancing Her Truth – Women’s stories of strength and empowerment told through movement.
The Nature of Dance – Exploring humanity’s connection with the natural world.
Pride in Motion – A vibrant program of LGBTQIA+ stories through dance.
Kaleidoscope of Connection – Celebrating cross-cultural collaboration and student creativity.
Extended Shorts & Features – Longer works diving deep into identity, intimacy, and resilience.
Doco Series – Powerful documentaries on flamenco, ballet, San Francisco’s public art, Senegalese traditions, and iconic choreographers.
Live Performance Captures – International stage works brought to screen from Japan, the US, and beyond.
