Founded in 1965, Holiday Wine Cellar has served as an iconic cornerstone of North County San Diego’s vibrant wine, craft beers, and exceptional spirits scene for six unforgettable decades. Located in the heart of Escondido, California, this legendary establishment is celebrated not only for its impressive selection of premium wines, craft beers, rare spirits, and specialty gifts but also for the distinctive charm of its unique underground retail cellar.
When founder Fred Einer first broke ground in the early 1960s, locals marveled at the massive and mysterious excavation at the intersection of Mission Avenue and Escondido Boulevard. Today, visitors still delight in exploring North County San Diego’s only below-ground wine cellar—a true gem that enhances every shopping experience.
