Alongside the Convention sits Citizen COP Australia, a decentralised national mobilisation running in parallel with the official COP agenda.

Enabled by People For Nature but intentionally independent and distributed, Citizen COP invites communities, organisations, schools, businesses, artists, and local groups across Australia to host their own events during the COP period, provided they align with shared values of inclusivity, constructive dialogue, and environmental responsibility.

Rather than a single centralised event, Citizen COP becomes a network of locally led conversations and actions — a “people’s COP” that makes global negotiations visible, accessible, and relevant at community level.

Through talks, workshops, artistic expressions, deliberations, and local initiatives, Australians are able to:

• Stay connected to live negotiations

• Explore COP themes through local perspectives

• Exchange knowledge and solutions

• Strengthen community engagement and agency

• Contribute citizen insights and reflections emerging from across the country
