Free Car Seat Inspections

Make sure your child’s car seat or booster seat is installed and being used correctly.

South Metro Safety Foundation, in partnership with South Metro Fire Rescue, offers free courtesy car seat inspections for families who live or work within the South Metro Fire Rescue district.

During your appointment, a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician will review your child’s car seat, how it fits your child and vehicle, and help you understand how to install and use it correctly for safer travel every day.

Appointments are approximately 30 minutes per car seat.

Please book:

• One appointment for each car seat you would like inspected.

• Two appointments if you have two or more car seats.

• Two appointments if you would like one car seat checked in two different vehicles.

Colorado’s child passenger safety law changed on January 1, 2025, including updated requirements for rear-facing seats, booster seats, back-seat use, and seat belts. Our technicians can help you better understand these requirements and answer questions about safely transporting your child.
