About
The South Metro Safety Foundation’s Super Sitter Babysitting Class is a fun, interactive course designed to give young babysitters the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to care for children safely and responsibly.
Designed for students ages 11–16, the class combines hands-on activities, discussion, and practical instruction covering the situations young babysitters are most likely to encounter.
Students will learn:
Basic childcare skills, including feeding, diapering, and age-appropriate activities
How to recognize and avoid common safety hazards
First Aid and how to respond to injuries and emergencies
CPR and AED skills
Pediatric emergency response
How and when to call 911
Babysitting responsibilities and expectations
Basic business skills, including finding clients, setting fees, and communicating with parents
The course includes CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification, giving students valuable skills they can use not only while babysitting, but at home, at school, and in the community.
Our goal is for every student to leave class feeling more prepared, responsible, and confident when caring for younger children.
Students must be at least 11 years old at the time of class.
