About
The Mill Theatre at Dairy Road is thrilled to announce the screening of 12 exciting Australian Theatre Live (ATL) productions throughout 2025. These captivating performances, recorded for audiences across Australia and beyond, will bring the best of Australian theatre to the big screen in April-May, August, and December. Like National Theatre Live, ATL showcases the finest homegrown talent, featuring a rich diversity of performances, from drama and comedy to cutting-edge circus and world premieres.
The program will include thrilling productions such as Erth's Prehistoric Picnic, where families can journey back 65 million years to meet lifelike dinosaurs, and The Pulse, a striking collaboration between Gravity & Other Myths and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs’ VOX that fuses physical theatre with a moving choral score. Other highlights include The Gospel According to Paul, a sharp, hilarious portrait of political icon Paul Keating, and Golden Blood, a gripping thriller set in Singapore from the Griffin Theatre Company.
The program will also feature Whitefella Yella Tree, an emotionally resonant exploration of love and history, Italian Baroque with Circa, where circus meets the music of Vivaldi and Corelli, and 宿 (stay), a haunting blend of music, dance, and storytelling from a talented ensemble of artists. Plus, don’t miss Away, Michael Gow’s classic tale of personal loss against the backdrop of 1960s Australia, and Diving for Pearls, a powerful exploration of the economic challenges faced by working-class families in 1980s Wollongong.
These shows represent the cutting-edge of Australian theatre and offer a chance to experience the best of our live performance industry, thanks to ATL's commitment to making Australian theatre accessible to all. The Mill Theatre is proud to host these screenings and invite audiences to enjoy this vibrant and diverse selection of performances on the big screen.
About Australian Theatre Live
ATL digitally records and distributes live-performance theatre, music and opera to cinemas, arts centres and community halls across the country and to online audiences locally and globally. We maintain two online subscription platforms, a public one for arts lovers in Australia and around the world, the other, an education only platform for drama and English students and teachers in high schools and tertiary institutions. ATL is the only company in the country offering a diverse catalogue of Australian theatrical arts productions online; we make the arts accessible and affordable to every Australian, regardless of location, age, ability or background; we create a rich resource for students and practitioners of the theatrical arts, and we are building an archive of Australian live-performances.
